It offers the perfect activities to provide an engaging and effective way to improve communication skills.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth experiential learning games are used to simulate modern day communication when a shared visual reference is not always available e.g. communicating via text \/ email \/ telephone, or even face-to-face, and using active listening and questioning skills to help build mutual understanding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original \u003ca title=\"Colourblind® Activity from RSVP Design\" href=\"\/products\/colourblind%C2%AE\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" tabindex=\"0\"\u003eColourblind® activity\u003c\/a\u003e relies on participants being blindfolded and asked to describe abstract shapes in their hand to figure out, as a team, which two pieces from a complete set of pieces have been removed. This requires active listening and questioning skills, as well as problem solving and team leadership in order to reach a consensus.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Colourblind® Plus activity works in a similar fashion, but participants can be set up in pairs (sitting back-to-back), then blindfolfed in small groups or a large group, so they cannot see each other’s shapes in increasingly difficult challenges.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThree alternative ways to play Colourblind® Plus include:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003epairs (back to back)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ein small groups of 4 (blindfolded) or\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ein larger groups of between 6 and 14(blindfolded) \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUsing the three different game versions in succession adds an element of change management, as participants need to refine and alter their language with new team members in order to effectively communicate and gain a mutual understanding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhether new entrants to the workforce or seasoned Executives, everyone can benefit from taking some time to further develop their communications skills - whether it is active listening, communicating abstract and difficult concepts to others, or indeed ensuring that the message being received is that which was intended!
